Eagle Trace Golf Club built new tee boxes for children ages 2-10. The new tee boxes are part of Eagle Traces' Lil' Linksters program. Lil' Linksters is a program intended for kids under the age of ten who want to play golf. These tee boxes set realistic goals for beginner golfers. "Lil' Linksters is set up so children play and enjoy the game of golf like anyone else would, because they have a chance to par or birdie," says Eagle Trace Golf Club's Director of Instruction, Brad Neher.
Lil' Linksters is designed with shorter realistic yardages for each hole, for example, hole number two is usually a par 4 with 323 yards from the ladies tees and with Lil' Linksters the total yardage is 176 yards. Along with the new tee boxes special scorecards with the Lil' Linksters yardage will be available. Neher says, "Now children can make it on the green with two shots and two-putt to make par, and have their own kids scorecard, this positive feedback encourages children to improve."
Eagle Trace Golf Club established the Lil' Linksters tees in its continuous efforts to promote junior golf development. Eagle Trace Golf Club through its affiliation with The Gold Crown Junior Golf Association; strives to introduce and develop life skills, etiquette, teamwork, sportsmanship, honesty, integrity, co-operation, respect, self-esteem and confidence through participating in sports activities.
